Daedo welcomes Dutch Poomsae athlete Joël van der Weide to Team Daedo, strengthening our commitment to supporting athletes across the different disciplines of martial arts.

His arrival marks a special milestone for the team, as Joël becomes the first Poomsae Taekwondo specialist to join Team Daedo.

FROM AN EARLY START TO THE WORLD STAGE

Joël started practicing Taekwondo at the young age of six, and by nine, he was already competing in international events. His dedication to the discipline led him to build an outstanding 18-year career as a taekwondo specialist in Poomsae. His dedication to Poomsae has taken him to the highest levels of international competition, establishing him as one of the leading athletes in the discipline.

Regarding his academic journey, he specialized in a Vocational Education and Training (Mbo) program in Sports and Exercise. Furthermore, he continued his Higher Professional Education (Hbo) studies in the Sports Science program. Thanks to his academic background and extensive professional career in Taekwondo, he can offer seminars and online classes under his name.

A NEW CHAPTER WITH TEAM DAEDO

On December 18, 2023, Joël had the opportunity to visit Barcelona and participate in a photoshoot with other Taekwondo masters, Master Jeong Cheol Kim and Laura Kim. Besides serving as a model representing his discipline, the photoshoot marked a special occasion.

During the session, Mr. Park, CEO of Daedo, personally welcomed the future member of Team Daedo. This meeting strengthens the beginning of a significant collaboration, as Joël is the first Poomsae Taekwondo specialist to join our team.

Joël’s arrival brings a new dimension to Team Daedo, expanding our presence in Poomsae and strengthening a team united by the same passion for martial arts.

We look forward to supporting him through the next chapter of his journey and seeing where his dedication to Taekwondo takes him next.
