A Weekend of World-Class Karate in Pamplona

Pamplona welcomed some of the world’s leading karate athletes for the 2024 Karate World Cup, held from November 22 to 24.

As an official and main sponsor of the event, Daedo reinforced its commitment to international karate, supporting both the competition and the athletes taking part. Daedo also continued its support of the Spanish national team through its partnership with the Royal Spanish Karate Federation (RFEK).

Over three days of competition, athletes competed across men’s and women’s kata and kumite, culminating in the medal contests and finals on Sunday.

Three Bronze Medals for Spain

Spain concluded the competition with three bronze medals across women’s kata, men’s kata and women’s kumite.

In women’s kata, Paola García, María López, Raquel Roy Rubio and Gema Morales delivered a strong team performance to secure bronze.

Damián Quintero, Sergio Galán and Raúl Martín added another bronze for Spain in men’s kata, while María Torres, Isabel Nieto, Carlota Fernández, Sonia Pérez and Indira Zúñiga García completed the medal tally with bronze in women’s kumite.

The results reflected another strong international performance for Spanish karate in front of a home crowd.

Bringing Karate Legends Closer to the Fans

Beyond the competition itself, the Daedo booth became a meeting point for the karate community throughout the weekend.

Olympic champion Sandra Sánchez joined her coach and husband, Jesús del Moral, for a special meet-and-greet with fans on Saturday. On Sunday, Olympic medalist Damián Quintero welcomed supporters for another autograph session.

The appearances gave fans the opportunity to meet two of Spanish karate’s most recognised athletes, take photographs and share a memorable moment away from the competition area.

For Daedo, these encounters are an important part of what major sporting events represent: bringing athletes, fans and the wider martial arts community together.

Supporting Karate at Every Level

Daedo’s role at the 2024 Karate World Cup extended beyond sponsorship.

Alongside its support for the Spanish national team, Daedo supplied technical equipment for the competition, contributing to the environment in which some of the world’s leading karate athletes performed.
